FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS (FAQS)

Do stubborn stains need to be pre-treated?

We recommend that you treat stains exactly as you have always done. Using the EcoFrog, stubborn stains must be treated in the same way as before. For everyday dirty clothes, using EcoFrog will allow you to use less detergent or none at all.

Does EcoFrog work with all types of water?

EcoFrog works with all water qualities supplied to homes, but the better the water quality the better the results. If you use hard water, we recommend you use a water softener and/or a pre-filter for chlorine. It cannot be used with salt water.

Does EcoFrog work with industrial washing machines or for business use?

EcoFrog is designed and recommended for domestic use, although it can be applied in a business, commercial or industrial context as a natural disinfectant to clean surfaces and and to clean washing machines with a capacity up to 10 kg. We have a model available for commercial or industrial use.

Is EcoFrog only used with washing machines?

With washing machines and dishwashers The water treated by EcoFrog is used only for cleaning and disinfecting, such as washing clothes and foodstuffs, pets, floors and surfaces, windows, glass, bathrooms etc.

Can EcoFrog be installed without being hung on a wall?

The ideal installation for the EcoFrog is for it to be hung in its natural position on a wall.

What is the recommended operating temperature of the EcoFrog?

EcoFrog is designed to work with cold water, up to 30ºC. However, we have other machines available in order to work with temperatures above 30ºC.

When should you use EcoFrog in H (High) mode or L (Low) mode?

H mode provides 1.2 mg/litre of ozone in the water whereas L mode provides the lower amount of 0.5 mg/litre.

For whites and clothes with stubborn stains we recommend using H (High) mode whereas L (Low) mode is recommended for more delicate clothing (linen, silk, etc.) or clothes that are easy to scrub and wash. L (Low) mode is also recommended when fabrics are coloured with organic or natural dyes.

What alert does the machine have for each type of breakdown?

For alerts and breakdowns, please consult the TROUBLESHOOTING section of the User Manual. If you cannot identify either the alert or the breakdown after checking in the manual, please contact your Distributor.

What is happening when the blue LED light come on once the machine stops working?

When the EcoFrog stops working and moisture is detected in its interior, a particle dryer is activated that operates for four hours which is evident due to the fact it makes a slight noise. It is recommended not to turn the EcoFrog on again during this period, although the EcoFrog would not be harmed if it were necessary to do so.

What is the estimated useful life of the ozone generator?

The EcoFrog's ozone generator is estimated to have a useful life of approximately 2,500 hours. Once this estimated level is reached then the ozone generator will start losing effectiveness.

How long does the water containing ozone generated by the EcoFrog keep its disinfectant properties?

It is estimated that the disinfectant properties of water generated by the EcoFrog lasts for 45 minutes.

Does the EcoFrog require maintenance?

No. The EcoFrog requires no maintenance whatsoever.

EcoFrog water is not suitable for drinking or ingesting in any way.

TROUBLESHOOTING

1. The EcoFrog does not turn on

There is a problem with the power source or with the hose. Make sure you check the cables are securely connected and ensure the hose is correctly connected to the “INLET” and “OUTLET” points and that the cold water tap is turned on. If a problem is detected and, after checking in the manual, you cannot correctly identify the alert or the breakdown, please contact your Distributor.

2. Flashing red light

Signal O3 – The oxidation module has failed. Unplug the device and restart it after three minutes; if the blue light comes on when restarted then the device is working correctly; if the flashing red light comes on, contact your distributor for a replacement. If a problem is detected and, after checking in the manual, you cannot correctly identify the alert or the breakdown, please contact your Distributor.

3. There is no smell of ozone on the clothes

1. Check that you have chosen the appropriate ozone level.
2. Check for any obstruction between the EcoFrog and the disc (inlet filter of the washing machine). Ensure that the hose pressure applied to the supply valve is a minimum of 2.75 bar. If this does not solve the problem, then go back to changing the hose to the EcoFrog, fitting it and putting cold water through the hose into a bucket to drain the Venturi tube. Now put the hose into its correct position.
If a problem is detected and, after checking in the manual, you cannot correctly identify the alert or the breakdown, please contact your Distributor.

4. The clothes have come out bleached

The ozone level is configured incorrectly.
1) Make sure you have the right ozone level for the different types of clothing being washed.
2) When using EcoFrog for heavier load washes, make sure that there is no dark or black clothing in direct contact with the water inlet. We recommend placing white clothing directly below the water inlet so that it absorbs the initial concentration of high oxidation.
If a problem is detected and, after checking in the manual, you cannot correctly identify the alert or the breakdown, please contact your Distributor.

5. Lather is left behind after the first few uses.

The remains of detergents or residues are being cleaned out.
Detergent residues are being removed from your clothes. This can take several washes depending on the amount of residues that remain in the clothing fibres.
If a problem is detected and, after checking in the manual, you cannot correctly identify the alert or the breakdown, please contact your Distributor.

6. The clothing has rust-coloured stains

Very low quality water as well as pipes that are corroded or that have high levels of iron etc. In this case, wash the clothes again using a clean water source or try adding a small amount of bleach to your wash. The bleach will help brighten the wash but will be diluted by the oxidised water at the end of the washing cycle.
If a problem is detected and, after checking in the manual, you cannot correctly identify the alert or the breakdown, please contact your Distributor.
